Welcome to my stalking section
I've been expecting you.
I’m Danna, a director, strategist and storyteller based in Melbourne.
This is a selection of my work in photography, video and brand storytelling. I direct, shoot, grade and edit, and I shape the sound too. Different projects, one thread: every piece starts from the story of the brand and the people behind it.
My background is in communications. I studied Social Communication in Bogotá, then led a communications agency and managed social media and campaigns for brands, including Yancyhandmade, a handmade goods brand. Those years taught me how to take an idea from concept to delivery.
In Melbourne, I added marketing and marketing automation to my skills. I also spent three years in hospitality. Creating cocktails behind the bar was another kind of creative work, and serving guests every day taught me to be quick, to care about the experience and to deliver quality under pressure. I bring that same mindset to every creative project.
I’m especially drawn to fashion and handmade accessories, where style becomes story. Selah, the name of my studio, means a pause. I like to pause, look at a brand from its root, and then create with intention.
I work in Spanish and English.
My timeline
This is where I learned that brands have a soul. Coca-Cola, healthcare, government. Big lessons and experiences that shaped who I am professionally. Then the pandemic hit and the world shut its doors. Mine, however, swung wide open.
A new way of working. Startups with Colombian roots that wanted to exist in the digital world. English kept showing up in every piece of content, every conversation. I realised it was the missing piece I needed to go further.
I came to Australia to learn English, nothing more, nothing less. It gave me that and so much more. I studied marketing and marketing automation, interned in the industry and worked in hospitality while building my own studio. Today I’m an immigrant stepping back into full-time creative work, ready to bring story to a team.
